Happy New Year!

We’re very excited to announce that Julie Breidt will be taking over as Curator of the Hoffman Challenge.  I have tremendously enjoyed my eight years as the curator, but will tell you that Julie will be awesome, and I feel very excited to be “passing the torch” to her!  We’ve worked closely together for the last seven months, and anticipate that there will be a seamless transition.

I had planned on focusing on completing my Master’s of Science in Nursing, but instead will work on that part-time while spending two years working for the Naval Aviation Foundation on an exciting one-time quilt challenge.   After you get your Hoffman Challenge quilt done and submitted, perhaps you’d like to enter!  You can learn more about it at www.jukeboxquilts.com or www.navyquilts.com, which will be up in a few weeks.

There are many things I’ll miss about being curator, but I eagerly anticipate being part of the volunteer team so I can still enjoy your wonderful entries.  Julie and I will also be working together on the Rocky Mountain Quilt Festival in August, where the entire traveling collection can be viewed.  I am looking forward to the first lazy summer spent with my family since I started as curator.  Of course, for those of you who know me, chances are that we won’t really be lazy, but will instead enjoy a bit of travel and some quality time in the beautiful Rockies.
Please join me in welcoming Julie to this wonderful job!  I also want to thank you all for eight awesome years.
Sincerely,
Kelly Gallagher-Abbott
