Original Design. I used a copyright-free drawing of an ironwork gate from the book Treasury of Ironwork Designs by Dover Publications, as my source, and then simplified and adapted it. I thought that using the very small pieces of the Challenge fabric would highlight the different features found in the fabric. I completely underestimated the time this quilt would take! There are 2164 mosaic pieces in this quilt, all sewn by hand!
