2003 Hoffman Challenge Judges

The curator selects three judges for the challenge. They are selected in July, and judge the challenge shortly after the entry deadline. To be considered as a judge for future challenges, or to recommend an individual, please contact the curator.

Our 2003 Judges for the Black Cherry Competition were:

Russell Scott:
Russell Scott, quilt and clothing maker and owner of two really cool quilt shops in Santa Monica and Hollywood, CA. Russell has been featured on Simply Quilts, and teaches innovative techniques and design to zillions of Southern California quilts yearly! Karen Cunagin:
Karen Cunagin is a fiber artist who lives near San Diego, CA. Her work and teaching focuses on three areas: sculptural cloth dolls, pictorial rugs hooked with wool flannel, and art quilts. She has a diploma in residential interior design and a BA in English and Creative writing. Her work includes both retail and commercial design projects. Karen's art and teaching has taken her around the US and to Australia. Magazines and newspapers (and Hoffman Challenges) have featured her work. Karen can be reached at awomanstoys@aol.com.
